UPDATE - Three Individuals Charged - Detectives Seize Firearms and Drugs After Robbery

UPDATE

On February 19, 2021, we received information that wanted party, 24 year old Jayson Wright staying at another establishment in the South End of Greater Sudbury.

Based on the ongoing investigation, Detectives applied for and were granted a Warrant to Enter, as well as, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant and a Criminal Code of Canada Search Warrant due to believed presence of illicit drugs and unlawful possession of firearms.

Officers to Canvass Area of Lake Nepahwin in Ongoing Search for Andrew Martin

We continue to seek the Public’s assistance in locating 31 year old Andrew Martin.

Recently, Detectives received information of a possible sighting of Andrew in the area of Lake Nepahwin.

On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, Members of GSPS will be conducting a canvass in the area of Lake Nepahwin for additional information and video surveillance footage. Members will also ask area residents for permission to check outbuildings on private property as Andrew may have taken shelter.

Officers Seize Drugs, Weapons and Explosives After Search Warrants on Moxam Road

On February 16, 2021, we received information that a resident on Moxam Drive in Lively was in possession of explosives and illicit drugs. Detectives from our Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation into the matter.

Based on the investigation, Detectives applied for and were granted Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants for the residence.

Traveler in Breach of Quarantine Act Fined $3000

On February 20, 2021, Officers were dispatched to a residence in Greater Sudbury after we received a complaint from a Quarantine Officer with Public Health Agency of Canada. Information provided was that a resident of Greater Sudbury had returned to Canada from the United States on February 19, 2021 with COVID test results that did not meet the current Federal timeline requirement.

27 year old Man Charged with Numerous Child Pornography Offences

On February 18, 2021 the Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E.) and Computer Forensics Units assisted by member of our Emergency Response and Intelligence Units executed a Search Warrant at a residence in Greater   Sudbury.

As a result of the investigation, 27 year old, Kodie O’Malley was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Access Child Pornography x10
• Possess Child Pornography x11
• Distribute Child Pornography x4

He appeared in Bail Court on February 18, 2021 to answer to the charges.
