Around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021, we were called in relation to a Weapons complaint at a residence on O’Neil Drive West in Garson. Information received by our 911 Emergency Communications Centre was that when the caller knocked on the front door of the residence he was met by a man holding what was believed to be a handgun. The man pointed it at his head and threatened to kill him.

On Friday, February 12, 2021, through the ongoing investigation into this incident, Detectives applied for a second Search Warrant for the unit inside the residential building after information was provided that additional explosives may be located within the unit. Just after 10:30 p.m. last night, February 3, 2021, a member of our Traffic Management Unit located an idling vehicle outside of a building on Kathleen Street where the driver of the vehicle appeared to be asleep at the wheel. On January 27, 2021, Detectives from the Toronto Police Service Drug Squad working in collaboration with our Drug Enforcement Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) Search Warrant at a residence on Ontario Street in Greater Sudbury.

During the Search Warrant, Detectives located and seized over 6,700 grams of Fentanyl and 418 grams of Cocaine with an estimated street value of over $2,750,000.
