Just before 11:30 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021, Officers responded to an Assault at a residence in Greater Sudbury after information was provided that the home owner had two individuals subdued awaiting Police and Paramedic Services were requested for multiple individuals within the residence. In order to protect the identities of the victims, the location of the incident will not be released.
When Officers arrived on scene they found the home owner holding down the two individuals responsible...

We have recently seen an increase in impaired driving incidents. From November 27th to December 31st, 2020, a total of 58 drivers in Greater Sudbury were charged with Impaired Driving! These drivers were impaired by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both and we are extremely disappointed by these statistics.
During that time period, 13 of those 58 Impaired Drivers were caught thanks to 12 Festive Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) spot checks conducted by our Traffic Management...

Through the investigation, Detectives from our Criminal Investigation Division identified the person believed to be responsible for the murder of 75 year old Robert Keskinen.
Just before 2:15 p.m. on January 7, 2021, Detectives from our Major Crimes Section with the assistance of members of our Integrated Crime Team located the woman on Kathleen Street. The woman was taken into custody without incident.

On December 15, 2020, Officers arrested and charged 37 year old Christopher Goodman for Fraud Under $5,000 x6 in relation to multiple incidents that occurred over the Summer in Greater Sudbury.
Between May and September, the man accepted deposits from various community members for landscaping services on behalf of a local company. Around 1:00 a.m. this morning, Thursday, January 7, 2021, we received a call from City of Greater Sudbury Fire Services regarding what was determined to be a Suspicious Fire.
Fire Services responded to a residential building on Laforest Street after tenants reported smelling smoke. Firefighters arrived on scene and could see smoke coming from one of the units. They entered the unit and extinguished the fire.
All of the tenants were safely evacuated from the building and no one was injured, however...
