Man Arrested in Connection to Two Robberies in Val Caron

On April 8, 2021, as part of an ongoing investigation into recent Robberies that took place in Val Caron, Detectives from our Break, Enter and Robbery (B.E.A.R.) Unit executed a Search Warrant at a residence in Val Caron.

Upon executing the Search Warrant, Detectives located the man believed to be responsible for both Robberies, as well as, the knife used in at least one of the incidents.

I.C.E. and O.P.P. Execute Search Warrant in West Nipissing

On April 8, 2021, our Internet Child Exploitation (I.C.E.) and Computer Forensics Units working collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) executed a Search Warrant at a residence in West Nipissing.

As a result of the investigation, 39 year old Jashua Tremblay was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Access Child Pornography
  • Possess Child Pornography
  • Distribute Child Pornography
  • Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order

On Friday, April 9, 2021, we received information that an individual from Southern Ontario was not abiding by his release conditions and was currently in Greater Sudbury dealing illicit drugs.

Detectives from our Drug Enforcement Unit (D.E.U.) of our Integrated Crime Section applied for and were granted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) Search Warrant for a residence on Brodie Street in Greater Sudbury where the man was staying.

Fatal Fire on Bruce Avenue Early This Morning Claims Lives of Two Community Members

Shortly after 5:00 a.m. this morning, Sunday, April 11, 2021, we received a call from City of Greater Fire Services as Firefighters were on scene of a structural fire at a residential building on Bruce Avenue in Greater Sudbury.
