GSPS Relay for Reconciliation: Meet Sgt. Matt Hall

We are humbled to announce our first annual Truth and Reconciliation Relay. From September 1st to September 30th, GSPS members will be logging their daily kilometres completed during work outs, walks, runs, etc. with a goal of completing one kilometre per child that never returned home from Canadian residential schools. This number is estimated to be 10,000 children (however we acknowledge that the true number may never be known as the search for unmarked graves is still ongoing).

Man Arrested and Charged After Weapons Complaint on Glenview Avenue

Around 7:00 p.m. on September 5, 2022, Officers were dispatched to a residence on Glenview Avenue in Onaping in relation to a Weapons complaint.

Information provided was that individuals had been involved in a verbal argument outside a home and as a result of the argument a resident had returned with what was believed to be a firearm.

Officers Pull Man From Vehicle Submerged in Swamp - Driver Charged with Impaired Driving

Around 7:30 p.m. on August 29, 2022, Officers were dispatched to the area of Paris Street and Centennial Drive in relation to a single vehicle collision.

Officers quickly arrived on scene and located a single vehicle on its roof in a swamp, submerged in a few feet of water with the driver still inside the vehicle.

Former Administrator at St. Charles College Arrested and Charged with Criminal Negligence

As a result of the investigation into the conduct of the 56 year old Teacher from St. Charles College who has been charged with multiple sexual offences related to inappropriate behavior and touching of students under the age of 16, Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division have arrested and charged a former Administrator at the school. Due to the sensitive nature of the incident and in order to protect the Survivors’ identities, no further details will be provided.
