WANTED: Police Seeking Public Assistance in Locating 36-year old Cordell Miller

UPDATE 2 - Arrested  Just before 3:00 p.m. on July 22, 2022, 36-year old Cordell Miller was arrested without incident by members of our Break Enter and Robbery Unit and Tactical Unit in the South End of Sudbury. Cordell was held at Police headquarters overnight and will attend WASH court tomorrow, Saturday, July 23rd 2022 to answer to his charges. We thank the public for your assistance in this matter.

Two Hamilton Men Arrested and Charged for Kidnapping Sudbury Man

In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 16th, 2022 a 51-year old man attended Greater Sudbury Police Service headquarters to report that he had been kidnapped by two men on July 7th, 2022. The men drove him to a location in Hamilton, Ontario, where he was kept against his will for a duration of several days. The men recently brought him back to his residence in Greater Sudbury, upon which they displayed firearms and held him against his will for another period of time.

Incident on Lasalle Boulevard Leads to Hate-motivated Charges

Around 10:30 p.m. on July 9, 2022, we received a call regarding an Assault that had previously occurred at a convenience store/gas station on Lasalle Boulevard.

Information provided was that two individuals had been in a verbal argument where a man made racially charged comments towards another customer resulting in a physical altercation between the two individuals outside of the store.

Due to the hate-based nature of this incident, the matter was assigned to a Detective in the Major Crime Section...

Last night, July 13, 2022, 29 year old Derreck Elliott was arrested and charged for the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;

• Attempt Murder
• Weapons Dangerous
• Assault
• Forcible Confinement
• Uttering Threats
• Overcome Resistance, Choking

He was held in Police custody overnight and will attend Bail Court today, July 14, 2022 in order to answer to the charges.

UPDATE - Arrest Warrant for 29 year old Derreck Elliott - Attempt Murder on Frood Road

UPDATE

Through the ongoing investigation into the Attempt Murder that took place on July 7, 2022 inside a residence on Frood Road, Detectives have identified the man believed to be responsible for the attack.

As a result, an Arrest Warrant for 29 year old Derreck Elliot (image attached) has been issued for Attempt Murder, Weapons Dangerous, Assault and additional charges.

Derreck Elliott is described as being about 6’3” tall, around 160 lbs., with a slim build, dark brown hair and brown eyes
