As a result of the ongoing investigation into the double homicide at a local hotel, Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division have been granted an Arrest Warrant for 33 year old Joel Roy for First Degree Murder x2 as well as Attempted Murder of an 18 year old man who was present during the shooting, however he was not injured. Officers Add Three Names to Santa's Naughty List in Connection to Over 15 B&E's

Over the past week, officers have located, arrested and charged three individuals in connection to at least 15 commercial Break and Enters between August and December of this year.

On December 18, 2022, officers were dispatched to a business on Barrydowne Road after a man attempted to gain access to the building via the roof. The man fell through the ceiling and landed inside the business where he was confronted by an employee. The man fled on foot prior to police arrival.

Officers Charge 25 year old Man with Murder After Altercation at Residence on Notre Dame Avenue

Just after 1:50 a.m. this morning, December 23, 2022, officers were dispatched to a residence on Notre Dame Avenue in relation to an Assault that has just taken place.

Information provided was that two men had been in a physical altercation resulting in one of the men sustaining life-threatening injuries. The 20 year old man was transported to the hospital by City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services, however, he was unfortunately pronounced deceased by medical professionals.

On December 15, 2022, Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police Service arrested 34 year old Bidah Preet Singh Bhatia of Waterloo for Manslaughter and Trafficking a Schedule I Substance.
