There is No Excuse to Drive Impaired: Festive RIDE Launch

The tragic and life altering impact that impaired driving has on families is something that we never want anyone to have to experience.

So far in 2022, we’ve charged 252 drivers in Greater Sudbury with impaired driving offences. There is no excuse for driving impaired.

UPDATE - Man in Critical Condition After Being Dropped off at Emergency Department

Through the ongoing investigation, Detectives in the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division have gathered images of the unidentified man who brought the 22 year old man to the hospital (images attached).

We are looking to speak with this man in order to determine the events that lead to the 22 year old man sustaining critical injuries.

Over $15,550 of Drugs Seized - Man From Southern Ontario Charged After Failing to Stop for Police

Just before 11:15 p.m. on November 22, 2022, an Officer saw a vehicle belonging to a suspended driver being driven in the area of Paris Street at Cedar Street. Upon running the vehicle, the Officer also determined that the insurance status of the vehicle was unconfirmed and the permit was expired.

The Officer turned on the emergency lights of the cruiser in order to conduct a traffic stop, however the driver did not pull over.

Man in Critical Condition After Being Dropped off at Emergency Department

Around 11:55 p.m. on November 21, 2022, Officers were dispatched to Health Sciences North after a man who had sustained gun shot wounds was brought into the Emergency Department. The man was dropped off by another man who immediately left the scene. They arrived at the hospital in a red SUV (images attached).

The 22 year old man from Southern Ontario who sustained gunshot wounds remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
