Man in critical condition after incident on Elm Street - 33-year-old man charged with Attempt Murder

Just before 5:15 p.m. on July 3, 2024, officers were dispatched to an Unknown Trouble on Elm Street. Information provided was that an individual could be heard yelling for someone to call police from inside a residential unit.

On July 1, 2024, Detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation regarding an individual believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury. Officers from patrol operations, assisted by DEU arrested an individual on Lorne Street for breaching a court-issued release order. Officers from the Greater Sudbury Police Service Traffic Management Unit and Patrol Operations will be on patrol again this Canada Day regulating the safe flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Roadways around Bell Park, Science North, Health Sciences North and several intersecting streets will be monitored for prohibited parking.

Around 2:00 a.m. this morning, June 28, 2024, officers saw a vehicle with no lights traveling southbound on Regent Street. Officers initiated the emergency lights on their police cruiser to conduct a traffic stop.
