Officers arrest and charge seven drivers with impaired operations

Around 5:05 p.m. on May 16, 2025, while patrolling the downtown, an officer conducted a Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) check on a motor vehicle. The MTO check showed that the permit of the vehicle had expired. The officer initiated a traffic stop and detected signs of impairment from the driver.

Officers arrest four individuals and seize drugs, replica firearms and cash

Around 4:50 p.m. on May 4, 2025, officers were dispatched to a property on Van Horne Street in relation to a weapons complaint. Information provided was that a group of individuals were seen in the park armed with what were believed to be firearms.

Officers arrived in the area and located the individuals matching the descriptions provided. Officers saw that one of the individuals appeared to be carrying a firearm. The four individuals were arrested without incident.

18-year-old man arrested and charged after Robbery on the Kingsway

Just before 10:55 a.m. this morning, April 29, 2025, officers were dispatched to a store on the Kingsway in relation to a Robbery in progress. Information provided was that an individual entered the store, stole a packaged desktop computer and threatened staff by stating he was armed with a knife. The individual then fled on foot prior to police arrival.
